Review by: Ted Reynolds

A tired Nick Cave, after a really hard day smoking, gyrating his hips and pointing threateningly, comes home and finds David Lynch’s brain band playing in his garage, so he has a mope over it and then has a nap. Actually this guy sings a bit higher than Nick Cave. It’s a bit like when Fugazi let Joe Lally sing a song. I sort of like it, If you thought the only good thing to come out of New Orleans was Eyehategod, then here’s another band that’s ok.

This song ‘turn in your direction’ is probably the one with the most ‘normal’ instrumentation, and I kind of
like it the best, it’s a nice oddball bit of indie. The song that follows it, ‘the angel’, is a nice one too, it’s
a slow shot over some bit of desert in Arizona soundtrack sort of song.

It’s good, it’s slow expansive indie, is it a bit Americana? I haven’t got a clue fam, but to me it sounds like
it is (I am obviously basing that on what i imagine ‘Americana’ to sound like). If you were a stoner you would probably love it.
