There’s a wolf on the cover, the cd pack has been sealed with candle-wax, there are essays in the inlay, and
Crass style anarcho symbols all over it (Is the wolf the most anarcho animal, or the most fascist? Now there’s
a discussion for my next workshop). I’m frightened to listen to it.
I was right to be, it’s horrible Goth punk, with some elements of dance/electronic/dub music in there. There is
a strong anti establishment theme (‘mind control, don’t let the computer take over your soul’ ha!) hence the Crass style artwork, and the ‘be yourself – be free’ essays.
My girlfriend who is a big fan of Goth says some of its a bit like Switchblade Symphony? I haven’t got a clue,
I know that i really hate it, some of it is really funny though. It’s like an hour and a half long for fucks
sake, when is that ever acceptable?!
The weird thing is I’m struggling to turn it off, I don’t want to miss the next funny bit, and there are a lot
of them, the more I listen to it the more I enjoy it, despite really not wanting to, and I really don’t want
to.
Despite my dislike for it, I would go out of my way to go and watch them. I can’t tell you that I liked it
because I think its terrible, but at the same time I do like it and sort of want to listen to it again. The
best thing to do would be to put it behind something so I don’t accidentally pick it up again.
