This is some indie rock from France. Having lived there for 5 years that’s one genre of music I didn’t hear too much of over there. It is their second EP and they have a message for you on the Bandcamp page: “We hope it will please you because it’s made with our guts”. What a lovely message! As well as that, they also sent in a very charming note with the CD. Anyway, let’s get to the music. They offer up seven songs on this EP. According to their Facebook page and blog they are influenced by a load of bands that I am into like Sebadoh, Pavement and Dinosaur Jr. so I was fairly hopeful on this one. However, it’s not a good start as the cliched lyrics of the opener leave me cold. There’s a nice fuzz to the guitars but lyrics like “Tell me that you feel good and I’ll treat you right” just don’t do it for me. It doesn’t get much better after that either and it’s all quite sub-par and uninspiring. I think you’d have to be really heavily into this type of music to enjoy this as there are plenty of bands doing this kind of thing a lot better right now. Don’t take my word for it though – it’s up for free download on their Bandcamp page so give it a go and tell me how stupid I am for not liking it.
