Weird industrial noise from some NY people who play in some cool NY bands, which means soon enough this will probably be the thing to play and everyone will forget about goth, deathrock and noise punk and start talking about Coil, The New Blockaders and Test Dept and find out more about the early industrial scene than the people who actually lived it and show other people on message boards how much they can remember about what they read yesterday on another message board while pretending that this is knowledge that they have had for quite some time and are only choosing to dispense just now. Welcome to the internet. Welcome to punk in 2014.
Oh, wait, the music? It’s pretty alright. I had it churning over a good few times and lost what might have been two hours inside it. Everything was grey and there were a lot of wires and I felt like that first time that Peter Weller’s robo-visor was lifted off and you could see the stark reality of man being wholly merged with machinery and you began to contemplate how horrifying it must be to have your fond family memories erased and replaced with a series of cold, immutable directives even though you did at least also get to forget about having your hand shot off and stuff. There were noises like lids being prised off of rusted things and grates clattering and chopper blades whirring and sometimes I think there might have been a human voice howling within it all. After a time I snapped out of it and stopped staring at the crack in the wall and turned it off and made myself a cup of tea. I thought it might be best if I didn’t go back to it for a little while, but I felt I still remembered enough to write a review, which is what I did.
