This is a new post hardcore band from Scotland who have a penchant for the likes of Hoover and Jawbox amongst others. Not enough bands these days take cues from bands like that so this is definitely an interesting one. It’s quite measured and restrained initially but there is a drive that lurks its head across each song in the changes of pace and vocals. The interplay between Colin and Beth on vocals is a nice touch. Opener “Crossfire” has the kind of slow guitar riff that you don’t hear much of anymore. “13 Snakes” is next and picks the pace up before what I think is the best song on here appears. It’s called “Repeat The Pattern” and sees Beth take the vocal lead. It’s a little darker with a slight twinkle to the guitar sound at the start but gets way more driven as the track develops – it’s a great song. That drive is more at the forefront again on the last track which rounds off an impressive set of songs. Excited to see what they come up with next – good things happening here for sure.
