This band is great. Big, bold, major-chorded, grungy, post-hardcore joy that welds volume to melody in a manner not unlike (let’s face it) Torche, although in Watertank’s defence, I think they started out even before Torche got going. Anyway, you get sung vocals over some satisfyingly crunchy riffing, which is sometimes slow, sometimes fast and sometimes quiet even. Take your cues from Helmet, Quicksand and Handsome, or Aeges and Tilts if you’re needing a more modern reference point. The non-shouting aspect of this really sets this apart though because that stuff is exponentially tricker to compose than most supposedly melodic hardcore out there. If I ever met Watertank I bet we would get on very well.
