I think this band used to be called Wilhelm & The Dancing Animals but somewhere along the way The Dancing Animals appear to have disappeared or been cast away. They come from Pamplona in Spain but the lyrics are all sung in English so no need to get your Spanish-English dictionary out for this one. The opening track kicks in with some upbeat, dancey indie pop and that’s how it continues for the most part. Lots of synth and lots of energy. Musically it’s not my kind of thing and it’s far too upbeat for someone like me as I’d much rather wallow in misery and dejection but there’s nothing wrong with it. I’d expect to see them playing with bands like Passion Pit and Vampire Weekend – somewhere in that realm. However, the photos on the cover and inside are all very cool and the one on the inside of the gatefold of the kids watching and playing football is spectactular.
