Intercourse - s/t - Tape (2014)

Labels: self released
Review by: Alex Deller

This tape came with a scarily-scrawled note (I think whoever wrote it may have crab claws rather than hands…) mentioning the likes of Deadguy, Cows, Converge and the Jesus Lizard. This, of course, meant it might well find a happy home with me, and, lo, so it did come to pass. Musically the band combine the loose, barrelling mania of something haywire and Voidish, Karp-like thumps and bouts of vicious, ear-scraping dissonance. The sentiments and subject matter are as hairily unpleasant as the music, with tales of misanthropy, disassociation and seedy viewing habits delivered in a bellow that drips with malignancy and disgust. While more than a little gross the songs suck you in the more you listen to them, smothering you with spit, bile and an obnoxious disregard for both your feelings and how you might feel about them.
