A compilation curated by Oscarson artist David Allred – who has some hand in 8 of the 12 songs on offer here. I’ll confess, this sort of folk/pop isn’t my wheelhouse…I’ve heard/of nobody on here at all. Still, I do like a good compilation and this is no exception. We’re unlikely to all agree, so I’ll tell you about my absolute favourite songs on here, the ones I’ve already looked up records for: there’s Andrea Tomasi’s glorious arpeggiated opener, Ian Griffith’s drifting dreamscape, Johanna Warren’s Ida-esque ‘Good is Gone’. Brigid Mae Power sounds like sunrise, and we play out blissfully with Steven Doman & Chantal Acda. If quieter, folky things are your cup of tea then definitely grab this. There’s lots on offer – and lots to like.
