Labels: Goatshead – WOOAAARGH
Review by: Alex Deller
Rampaging split release here that brings two different types of heavy to the table. Prolefeed are all dirty snarls, snaggletooth guitars and nimble bass runs that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Gas Chamber record. Overall, though, they remind me most the kind of stuff you used to hear from labels like Enslaved and Flat Earth, which is borne out by the fact that they’re fronted by the fella from Sawn Off. Henry Kane, on the other hand, play an enjoyably malformed brand of nastiness that smashes together grind, crust and glowering death metal gloom. Despite the differences in sound the two acts are unified by a bleak and bitter outlook, playing together nicely and making for a fitting release for the ever-reliable WOOAAARGH imprint.
