This came with a really interesting description, saying it was something like mid 90’s emo crossed with Iron Maiden. Word. Well, I think it said that. Anyway, this is some pretty cool screamy emo / hardcore with metal riffs. I promise that it works better than that sounds. They have excellent chuggy parts, quality slow bits with loads of people screaming the house down whilst you get the mosh on (or cry on the floor, your choice), and it comes together to create a pretty interesting sound. I love the screams on this, they are really wrenched and from the gut, like Eurich! I can totally see the pit as they hit the slow part and everyone leans back and points both fingers skywards. Or maybe that’s just me doing that. Ahem. The track on side B is even better. Fo’ real – man, Fire Down Below utterly smokes (chortle).
So yeah, I guess it is like Embassy crossed with Eurich crossed with a melodic metal band or something like that after all. So, uh, I just realised that means they sound like Sutek Conspiracy. Sorted! And you know this is good because Ed Walters does not release shit records. Dig the handmade packaging too. It even smells burned. Wow.
