Surging, muscular UK hardcore that’s about as blunt-force as the title of this EP’s opening track: ‘Face Meet Fist’.

There’s a thickness to the riffing reminiscent of In Cold Blood and some occasional choppiness that brings to mind SubZero which, along with the occasional oi interjection, all gives things a very aggro vibe. The violent, throat-wrenched vocals are provided by Tony Maddocks, – former bellower for Above All and Light Of The Morning, now also fronting Fates Messenger – while other folks have kicked about with the likes of Deathskulls and Nasty Bastard.

It’s a strong, thoroughly stomping piece of work that goes well back-to-back with the Mindless 7″ released by the same label, and the fact that there’s a sleeve variant which bastardises the first Bad Brains LP by switching the Capitol Building for the Kursaal makes me like it that much more.
