Nuttier than a really big nut, Psudoku is rather worryingly the work of one Norwegian called Mollen, who effectively split up with himself when he “disbanded” his previous musical outlet Parliamentarisk Sodomi. If you know P.S., Psudoku isn’t a million miles away sonically, just with a bunch of cheesily Tron-esque space and prog references, all of which I am more than OK with. The neatly discernible riffs stop and start at breakneck velocity, with some cracking drums keeping things flowing while allowing for some nifty rhythmic playfulness, all topped off with some reverb-drenched Neanderthal grunts and shrieks that keep things totally incomprehensible. “Space Grind” consistently walks a fine line between being grindingly, devastatingly serious and outright daft without straying far into either territory, much like Netjajev SS, Wadge or Melt Banana do it, only better. A total ripper from start to finish.
