Debut LP from this Swedish band who can’t quite decide whether they want to be punk or metal. The thin, ragged production job and roll-up-yer-sleeves-and-have-at-it attitude suggest the former, while the chainsaw guitar sound and guttural vocals definitely tend towards the latter. Sadly as a whole it doesn’t quite work out, though, with things suffering from monotonous drumming, vanilla riffing and an overall sense of stodginess. Moments like the Freddy Krueger nursery rhyme scunnering ‘Nightmares’ don’t help matters much either, and generally speaking you’d be better off giving something like Parasite or Birth Ritual a whirl if you want to hear some punked-up metal played with a bit more bite.
