Herein: some massively uncool but actually kind of ace rock music. With their honking great riffs, twiddly leads and Charlotta Ekebergh’s honey-mixed-with-sand vocals the band wear the retro tag well enough to perch nicely alongside Rise Above bands like Troubled Horse and the Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell. The comparison that keeps ringing in my ears, though, is Christian Mistress paying homage to the Hellacopters’ ‘High Visibility’ LP … by no means faint praise, and done with enough hell-for-leather panache to mark them out as ones to keep a weather eye on.
