Honestly ridiculous collection here, which boasts a brow-beating and wholly indigestible 47 songs. In case you’re unfamiliar, the band played a dense brand of metallic, murder-obsessed power violence that owed more than a nod to Crossed Out but is perhaps best described as a horrific collision between Despise You and Ringworm. Taking in a variety of demo, 7″, split and comp releases the quality here is understandably variable: some cuts (e.g. those culled from 1994’s ‘Vacancy’ 7″) make you feel you could take a wrecking ball to the chest, while others squelch along haphazardly thanks to cheapo, tinpot production. Even at their creakiest, however, things ooze wrongness: an Ohio-born sense of meanness that they share with acts as disparate as Integrity, Fistula and Accept Death. While not as good a place to start as their toweringly malevolent ‘Cleveland Power Violence’ LP (also ‘digitally reissued’ by Magic Bullet) this serves well enough as a gap-filler, history lesson and temperamental reminder as to how potent this genre could and can be.
