Halshug’s second full-length opens up with a mid-paced lurch, slugging thuggishly away before ‘Indre Fængsel’ gets the blasting started. Wherever the pace is at, though, the riffs are large and clearly delineated, forming the background against which the rest of the chaos – errant soloing, clattering percussion and vocals that sound half drugged and half vomited – surges. Occasionally some unexpected shit occurs (see: the hazy melodic section infiltrating ‘Udskud’) which makes for a nice change, mixing the solid delivery of the band’s feral D-beat with hints of a potentially weirder tomorrow.
