Fabrik Fabrik - s/t - LP (2016)

AGH, this is so close, but doesn’t quite do it for me. Euro hardcore/screamo from Berlin. Thick sludgy distortion like Daitro/Celeste. Concise songs in the 2-3 minute range. It’s difficult to define a niche in a packed genre, and there isn’t quite enough on this record to make me pull it out over those I already have: it’s not as expansive as Laisser Vivre…, and doesn’t have the dynamism of Blues Moderne. With that said, those are (for me) high standards for comparison, and this is a decent record all told. Maybe I’m just living in the past. If they were playing nearby I’d be there, and I’m definitely interested to hear what they do next. One for stronger fans of the genre I think.
