Avalanche come off like a third-tier thrash band who’ve just discovered sludge metal. ‘Interstellar Movement’ bounds along with a confidence it doesn’t entirely earn, and the thin, reedy edge to the riffing is distinctive but very far from crushing. It is, all told, perhaps the most adequate record I’ve heard all year. Make of this statement what you will.
