More unholy savagery from Klonns, this time a two-song, one-sided 7” that’s actually almost palatable – but only because the whole ordeal clocks in at around three minutes. ‘Amon’ is a blast of fairly straight-up metallic crust that hits like a tyre iron to the back of the head that keeps on pummelling long after whatever you had up there has been reduced to mush. ‘Gehenna’ isn’t too far removed, but throws some strained, desperate, almost youth crew-ish vocals into the melee as though it were the most natural thing in the world. Rather than detract or distract these actually heighten the sense of clamour and tension and make this one the very clear standout. Excellent stuff, as ever – if you can just plant your feet firmly enough to withstand it.
