Another nice dose of grungey noise-rock from Spain’s Palmar De Troya, and I think I enjoy this one even more than their last EP. Things are big, brash and bold, striding confidently forth as bleary melodies are smooshed up against moody catcalls and jagged slabs of wounded crunch. Elements of Sonic Youth, The Birthday Party, Janitor Joe and Live Skull are all jangling about in the mix, colliding most effectively on tracks like ‘Shakes In Hates’, ‘Waiting So Long’ and, my personal favourite, ‘She, The Destroyer’, which is by turns nerve-proddingly jarring and devastatingly sultry.
