Assholeparade - s/t - 7

Labels: self released

This is a little old, but I think it’s been repressed or something. What the heck. Who cares. This is a punk rock zine. Ha ha. Yeah, good one.

Here is a little background. Asshole Parade are from Gainesville, this 7″ was recorded by the serial Gainesville producer (Rob McGregor), and this is power violence. I don’t think anyone is supposed to take power violence seriously, because it is so stupid. I mean, there are 10 songs on this 7″, and it plays at 45rpm. What’s all that about? Anyway, their singer sounds so fucked up it’s beyond belief. He sounds like, what if Johnny Rotten was the devil? This is totally not helped when track 5 “The Game” gets stuck on my copy and he repeats the same line over and over and over and again forever. I have no idea what he is saying, I have headphones on, and I think I am going insaner.

They have a song that’s about 8 seconds long. They have a song which builds up for ages, goes “We’re Still Asshole Parade!” then it goes straight into the next song. They like to smoke pot.

I don’t know. This, if you’re still struggling, is basically punk rock condensed into really short songs and played really fast. Yes, it’s not particularly clever, but it’s a darn sight more interesting than the 100000th band you’ve ever heard that sounds like Sunny Day. Uh, ok, i’m going now.
