Kinda knew I was gonna like this before I even put needle to wax based on the fact that one song was called ‘Deformative Years’. What you get with Hysterics are four girls from Olympia who sound like they’d rather be kicking around Washington DC when Dischord was just getting going. Six tracks, all fucking raging, five being fairly straight-up blasts of discontent while the last builds itself around an insistent bass plunk across which ragged chords and furious hollers are flung with increasing venom. Great tunes, great lyrics, great everything: I wanna hear some more now, please.
