Meant to review the Hexis tape that Suburban Mayhem put out last year but somehow never got round to it. Oops. This 7″ features two songs that appeared on that and sees these mysterious Danes spewing out a foul torrent of blackened, sludge-tinged hardcore that sounds like it’s caught somewhere between Envy, Enewetak and Celeste. Everything’s trebly as fuck, buzzing round your head like a swarm of biting insects while every once in a while something distinguishable as an actual riff scythes out of the maelstrom and bites a chunk of meat from your torso. ‘Seputus’ on the a-side probably wins it for me since it has a bit more texture and offers a moment of brief respite, but the unremitting savagery of ‘Fatum’ sure ain’t to be sniffed at either. Now: an album, please.
