More enjoyably strange headfuck hardcore from NASA Space Universe, this time six quick songs on a tour-edition 12″ that some of us positively tripped over ourselves to get a hold of. Things sound a bit beefier than the ‘Wounded Galaxies’ material, with opener ‘Peeping Toddler’ endowed with a big, bold riff that makes me think of the Rye Coalition. Admittedly that’s a fairly odd reference for a band like this, and the general vibe is perhaps more akin to Angel Hair colliding head-on with that first Meat Puppets 7″, all while an MRP-style air of the absurd reigns with a shaky, erratic hand. Amid the smashes and shrieks are strange gloopy noises and lyrics about fuck-knows-what (take the track ‘Bozone’ – is it a hymn to body odour? A slur on the ozone layer? Misspelled boyband homage?) that hint at a marvellous, shattered world we’re either too sane or too square to ever fully be a part of.
