Jackals - No Solution - LP (2014)

Labels: Hardware
Review by: Kunal Nandi

You might find the odd solo knocking about but aside from that there is zero fucking about on Jackals’ first bit of large vinyl. Like the last Coke Bust LP, it’s a short but sweet affair, with ten songs in about as many minutes which is simply perfect for this style of lean and mean, nasty, straight-down-the-line, Void-esque hardcore punk. It’s loud, fast and heavy so of course it works on a purely physical level, but musically it’s got it in spades that will have you flipping it again. The track order is smart, with great stompy numbers next to the straight up thrashers, and each song is based around a strong, catchy riff with the eponymous track being my absolute fave. Make sure you check them out in real life too as they are killer live, with two singers going for it and a bunch of other people with their backs to you. “œNo Solution” is 2014’s first certified banging soundtrack to punch yourself in the face to.
