This gang is actually one bloke, making and manipulating ambience and drone, layered synths and the odd frenzy of artificial beats to create a seriously warm and enveloping soundtrack to the low-budget 70’s sci-fi flick permanently playing in my head. Take liberal doses of Tangerine Dream and Vangelis’ “Blade Runner” work, some squelchy video game throwbacks and a pared down minimalist approach that actually drags it bang up to date and you’re on to a winner. When things build and the beats kick in I get some primetime John Carpenter vibes and that is never not welcome.
