Two tracks from Dropdead. Two tracks! That’s basically two minutes, plus change. Pretty insane, but maybe when you’re getting patronage from Deathwish and Vice you can afford to be a little less doctrinaire when it comes to things like value for money or ensuring your planet-killing vinyl is put to good use. What do the tracks sound like? Dropdead, basically. A fast, rabid, blur of hardcore hate. What did you expect? Harps, vocoders and Tibetan bells? Ruidosa Inmundicia are a new one on me, but they sound pretty tasty: similarly fast and aggrieved, but more dynamic and with a cool mix of boy/girl vocals yabbering in your ear like froth-mouthed hounds of hell. Their tightly-reined thrash owes a nod to Crudos and also reminds me a bit of I Shot Cyrus – two reference points which are no bad thing in my book. While they also offer a quick mouthful it’s a bit more substantial, at least going some way towards balancing the lack of material offered by their better-known pals on the flip.
