Aborticidio - s/t - 7

Every once in a while I give one of these here noise-punk releases a go in case I’ve fallen in love with the genre overnight. Yet again, I haven’t. I don’t actively dislike it, I just rather question its purpose and why you’d want more than a few Gai / Confuse / Outo bootlegs in your collection. Sometimes there’ll be a glimmer of something to attract me (e.g. Nomad, Zyanose, People, Vaccuum if they even count…) but oftentimes I’m just… eh. Aborticidio are one of the eh ones. They are from Mexico and present a transient, growling mess that goes in through my left eyeball and exits through my yawning mouth. Vocals garble and gargle. Everything else sounds like a fax machine in a cement mixer. Lewd artwork shows crudely-drawn demons molesting crudely-drawn Asian women, which I’m sure would be deemed scandalous if it was a heavy metal record but is, I assume, ‘ok’ because these people are punx. The last song is, to me, the high point. Not just because it’s the last song, but also because it has some semblance of structure. It sounds kinda like Chuck Berry playing ‘Johnny B. Goode’ in hell. Assuming that you can, when you die, go to hell for underage sex, tax evasion and videotaping ladies going to the bathroom. So yeah. Eh.
