Oh guys, that band name *face palm*. Luckily the music is dead nice. There’s a beautiful little 90 second intro to kick things off, guitars gently chiming in and electronic effects spinning off like noisy crickets. It sounds like lying out in a field as night draws in, so many stars visible in a beautifully clear sky.

The first song proper starts with the lyrics “Can you see that I’m a wreck, just another worthless mess” so you know you’re in for a few tunes by emo kids feeling sorry for themselves. They’ve spent hours poring over their Mineral and American Football albums, (or their Empire! Empire! And Joie de Vivre mp3s, who knows), and have settled on a sound that will surprise few but delight more than that. This definitely works for me, I’m a sucker for this sort of self indulgence as you may well know, and they’ve generally nailed a lot of the good aspects of the sound. There is no twiddling, nothing is over-complicated, and each song brings something different with it, making for a nicely varied yet complementary set. The excellent vocals at times actually remind me a bit of Silver Scooter which is cool. I personally would have ditched the piercing post rock guitar bit on “Wax” though. None of that.

So yes, I can definitely get behind this. Extra half star for a song that is basically just twinkly music soundtracking a killer Louie sample.
