Posse - Perfect H - 7

Labels: Wharf Cat
Review by: Andy Malcolm

Posse, out of Seattle, released a mighty fine LP way back in 2014 (way way back, two years ago), and I believe this may just be their first release since then. A two track 7″. A double a-side. Leading off is the absolutely jaw dropping “Perfect H”. A mesmerising twinkler, reliant upon subdued bass lines, with the two vocalists taking turns. It’s Van Pelt styled, bummed out chatmo blending casually with blissed out reverbing surf guitars. This is right up in my favourite songs of 2016 and I’ve only heard it a few times right now. I shall hear it some more. “Voices” backs it, drawled vocals and a dusty, sand drenched country twang to the guitars brings to mind the most wonderful Gun Outfit. This release is vastly up my street and I am very excited to hear if Posse can do more things rather soon. Please.
