Cover seems to depict a skateboarding iteration of the killer from The Town That Dreaded Sundown, but rather than any sort of zippy skate thrash it starts with a low, bendy sludge riff that makes you think the damn thing’s playing at the wrong speed. This gives way to a brisk, powerviolent sock in the jaw that ultimately reverts to the slow-mo riffing once more before collapsing into a big greasy heap. The flip kicks off with a faithful cover of Deep Wound’s lugubrious ‘Dead Babies’, a choice which breaks the flow and seems slightly out of place next to an epic sludger and the brief assault of closer ‘CB100’. This ultimately makes for an oddly-paced single, albeit one that’s still worth a go and interesting enough to suggest the full-length on Painkiller Records should warrant a gander.
