Vaudevileins take on soft rock is a little hit and miss; plenty of chunky riffs, but it rarely hits the mark and ends up being somewhat dull. ‘Chasing Time’ is an example of this – very standard and going through the motions, without gripping the listener. ‘The Fool’ manages this better and has a great intro that almost borders into power ballad territory. A different vocalist strides out in ‘Prove It’ and adds a different dimension. There are good ideas here but it fails to captivate.
