It's Everyone Else - Heaven Is An Empty Room - CD (2016)

Labels: Noise Appeal
Review by: Oli Saunders

‘Patterns’ kicks off this album in impressive fashion: distorted but melodic guitar sounds open things before a harsher noise is laid on top. I have no idea what the lyrics are going on about but the vocals fit and work well when they up the intensity at the end.

The closest comparison I can think of is Nine Inch Nails, as It’s Everyone Else rely purely on synths to concoct a horrible but effective electronic sound. They are a two-piece and both get involved with the vocals, though the male vocals grate after a while and could be improved by toning it down a notch. It’s like one long battle scene in some futuristic movie and, furthermore, they lose the few inhibitions they had too as the album goes on.
