SCREAMO! FROM JAPAN! Could they be any more hip right now? Let’s not hold it against them though (the hipness that is) as a) it would be unfair to them, and b) I’d be foolishly missing out on some awesome music.
Heaven In Her Arms deal in the sort of slow building 6 minute long quiet, quiet, LOUD!!!1 type stuff (see also Gantz) and do it very well, particularly seeing as this is a demo, it is frighteningly complete and accomplished sounding for such an apparently young band.
So they don’t offer any great startling new ideas, but really, how often does someone sit and look out for things like that in music anyway? I just want something that moves me and this definitely does that, I have no idea what they are yelling about, it could be every emo cliche in existence translated into Japanese, but it sounds like it means a lot to them which i think is one of the big differences between an ok band and an awesome one. If I don’t feel it has conviction it ain’t worth time in my short life to even humour it, and I’ve played this loads…
