In the last decade or so bands like Raein and La Quiete have helped create a somewhat unique style of screamo/emo, so that listening to Yo Sbraito, what jumps right out at me is that they just have that Italian-mo ‘sound’, in much the same way bands like the French emo bands from the 90s just sounded kinda unique. Although not necessarily offering anything new to the genre, this is a solid demo and blew away a few cobwebs when I played it. Although on the prettier, more melodic end of the screamo spectrum, the seven tracks still pack a punch and are suitably unpredictable. This freshness is amplified by the length of said tracks, which are pretty much all around the 80 second mark. To me, the CD as a whole feels as passionate and full of heart as a mere 9 minutes of music ever could.
