CAD - Beton - split - CD (2008)

Labels: Beefy Records – Biosfere Records – Warsong
Review by: Joe Callaghan

I can never get enough of bands that sound the same. Formulaic. I am all about formulae. Crust is a main offender for the most part, and here we have 2 Eastern European bands that want to sound like each other and everyone else. It’s fast, and it doesn’t stray away from the one speed of fast that it boasts, lingering safely within the “œPretty Fast” bracket. The vocals are grunted, like the man in the old Benelyn adverts, with a chesty cough. Rough, buzzing, fuzzed-out guitars, like the sound of taking apart a fully populated beehive with a chainsaw. It honestly does not bare any other characteristics, but you wouldn’t want a Crust record to stray from that anyway, would you? You’d be pretty hacked off, and your Livejournal wouldn’t hear the end of it.
