Not heard anything from this lot since the album LVEUM put out, and it’s good to reacquaint – even if these songs do seem to be a couple of years old. Things are still ugly and scrabbly, but the sound – despite the flimsy format – seems thicker, denser and doomier. Sure, there are still frantic, punked-out blasts but the emphasis here is definitely on glowering – almost to the point where you get to wondering how Hellhammer might’ve sounded if they kicked around some Rudimentary Peni covers, or at least if that LP by Death Token (you know, the one with the eerie bird-thing on the cover) had actually been as good as you’d hoped.
