So Wolf Eyes manage to enter the big league, sign with Sub Pop, and take their sonic shitstorm to the masses. Don’t worry noise geeks, it’s not over! Wolf Eyes are back heavier than ever. “Stabbed in the Face” sounds like a Negative Approach LP on 33 (or a Corrupted 7″ on 45? I can’t tell!), put through a Big Muff, and it’s totally sweet. The drum machine gets my fists pumping the air, and the vocals are seriously nasty. Sadly the B side, “Rat Floods” is merely ok, since I’ve heard better from these guys and the kareoke version of “Stabbed…” is something I’ll probably never listen to again. Despite that, I’m perfectly happy with the A side and will say it’s probably the best single you could buy this year. Except you can’t anymore cos it’s totally sold out – I had to Soulseek this sucker! WOLF EYES ARE THE NEW NIRVANA!
