Doctor Bison have another rerelease and again it’s decent. It’s made up of their ‘Dewhursts: The Musical’ CD from 1998, their ‘Bring It On’ EP from 2002, plus four unreleased tracks. The punk edge is so subtle – really this is just very solid rock music. Melodic instruments lay the background for Chepstow Reg’s gravelly vocals. They throw a banjo into track 4 but for ther most part it’s quite samey. Songs like ‘Ringland Tuxedo’ remind me a little of The Stereophonics; I mean that in a good way. The first eight tracks peter out as they go but ‘Bring It On’ refreshes things; the unreleased tracks are a worthy addition too.
