I thought the idea of fucking Aphex Twin remixing The Bug would be worth the jokes at work about me buying a 12″ on Men records (I apparently also went to see 90 Gay Men last night!) but it doesn’t cut it quite like the original. It’s pretty nuts though, it takes the amazing electro-dancehall beats of the original but pulsates insane gabba meets drum n bass noise over the top of it. It could have been a lot better (not from me of course!) as I can’t see myself playing this as much as the original.
The second side I enjoyed a lot more though. Dick constructs some searing surface noise that doesn’t really take off but still sounds awesome on a minidisk.
