Ghostlimb - Bearing & Distance - LP (2008)

Labels: Adagio830
Review by: Adam Fleet

I hate it when stuff gets sent in for review in a zine and they give it to some chowderhead who clearly hasn’t got a clue what it is (s)he is reviewing. Well ladies and gents, today I am that chowderhead. Now let’s try and make this clueless review look as little like Maximum Rock’n’Roll as possible! Apparently Ghostlimb is connected to some band called Graf Orlock. A band which I have seen mentioned in this very organ on numerous occasions, but whom know little to nothing about! So with that in mind this lp reminds me of perhaps Attack Vipers, or maybe even Newborn (if anyone still remembers them) via a smattering of Fall Of Efrafa. Kind of rock-y in places, I have to say it’s fairly unremarkable and if truth be told musically it’s not entirely “˜my cup of tea’, to use the parlance of our time. Although having said that it does do just enough to keep your attention whilst spinning, and there’s essentially nothing to fault this on except perhaps its potential longevity. I guess if you’re into Graf Orlock or whatever, you’ll wanna check this out cause it’s well done, and a nice package. It comes in a gatefold sleeve with cool topographical map design artwork.
