Labels: 1859 Records – Different Kitchen

Although this one is from 2017, this time it’s not a 3 year late review, surprisingly. Different Kitchen sent us a package of 3 different Abolitionist records through fairly recently and this was one of them. Abolitionist play some chunky, growly melodic punk rock. The longest track is a whole 131 seconds long, here is a band that most definitely gets on with things. These quickfire bursts suit the 7″ format, delivering a compact capsule of focused energy. Straight forward lyrics covering humanity’s many failings. Decent re-introduction this, I’ll look forward to digging into the other two releases to see how what they’ve been doing the past 3 years.
