Frodus - And We Washed Our Weapons In The Sea - CD (2001)

Labels: Fueled by Ramen
Review by: Shawn Cameron

this album had many hopes up. genius title, beautiful artwork, an amazing discography, the true makings of an epic album/finale. the group known as the frodus conglomerate international had decided to part ways coinciding with the completion of this album. many months of label selection ended, the album would see light of day.

the results: less explosive than previous releases, more math-rock oriented, longer songs, building/many climaxes. this record has “epic” written all over it. it requires patience but when given the time, is amazing.

very clever lyrics are laced throughout the record about the usual frodus perspective. the decline of our society for the most part. sorry to sum up all their messages from that, but frodus can be probed for hours based on content.

many people will overlook “and we washes our weapons in the sea” as well as previous frodus releases due to one ridiculous factor. their affiliations with tooth and nail. this is ludicrous, with frodus not being a christian band, its surprising how many people jump to the gun with writing them off. ignorance goes both ways i believe. open minds seem be the ones to discover gems, this being no exception i suppose.

farewell, frodus.
