A Million Billion - Volcano Season - CD (2006)

Labels: Exercise1
Review by: Andy Malcolm

This is nice indie pop. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just nice. They have a piano. The vocals sound quite a bit like Pylon. Its simple, utilises some nice swirly shoegaze FX. The song is brilliantly structured, building up the layers and combining the elements in fine style, coming to a sweet climax. The second song is moodier and loses the upbeat exhuberance of Volcano Season, but is still playful and a good listen. The piano and bass tangle together to create a satisfying bassline. Yeah, I definitely liked this and would quite fancy hearing this band doing a full length.
