Daighila - Fanzui Xiangfa - split - 7

Labels: Eastcore – Revulsion – Stoneville – Tenzenmen

Thank God Daighila now have something out on vinyl. After solid demos, they released an EP ‘Henceforth’ on tape in 2009 which I still ascertain is an underrated gem. Their two songs on this record, which came out in 2010 but I have only just got around to owning, push the band to even greater levels. Their technical prowess doesn’t take away from what is essentially screamo, like if emoviolence bands such as Occam’s Razor and Straight, No Chaser (remember them?) learned to play their instruments a bit better but still knew where their roots were. The vocals top it all off, absolutely phenomenal.

Fanzui Xiangfa are on the other side. It’s always good to see a band from China playing punk music as it is clearly even more underground there than elsewhere in the world. The band play solid hardcore punk which is somewhat standard to my ears (it sounds quite European in fact) but enjoyable nonetheless (you should know by now that I can’t describe bands like this).

This is all but recommended; I know only about 5 people on Collective listen to Malaysian screamo, but those 5 people will be delighted with this 7”.
